THE AUTHOR

Hello, I am Patrick Jane. I was born in Launceston, Australia to Jacob Williams and Martha Jane. My father was a businessman and my mother was a school teacher. I had an elder brother Philip Jane who unfortunately died in a car accident, god rest his soul.

My education began at East Launceston Primary School but when I was four my parents divorced. My mother had to move in with her parents and as a result, my elder brother and I came to live at my Grandpa’s house in Ballina, New South Wales. My education continued at Bellina Primary School and later at Bellina High School where I did not show any traits of any savant and was an average student.

However, I liked acting and often took part in school plays but acting was never a career option for me at that time. At age 19, I opted for Bachelor’s degree in commerce at University of Queensland where in second semester I met a person who cast me in a TV commercial. For a few hours labor, I was handsomely paid and that kindled the deep downed buried flare for acting in me.

After completing my course at the university, I decided to pursue acting as a career rather than going for higher education or a secure job as my mother wished. I landed in Los Angeles, America and while supporting myself with part time and menial odd jobs, I dedicated myself full time for pursuing my dreams in Hollywood.

I miserably failed in Hollywood. I went for countless auditions for the whole year; but was rejected every time, from everywhere. I never got any role in anything, not even the role of a dead body wrapped in a white sheet. And believe me, when you are scrapping off the life with part time jobs in pursuing dreams that shatter each day, life really becomes hard.

I realized that Hollywood was not for me and made the right decision of quitting the unfruitful struggle. My family wanted me to return to Australia but I did not want to be perceived as a failure in back home, therefore I decided to settle in America and got myself enrolled in UCLA for MBA.

My family helped me a lot both emotionally and financially in this decision and for that, I am eternally grateful to them. After completing my MBA, I joined Wall-Mart and I have been with them since then.

I have been an avid reader of mystery novels and one day I said to myself, “Hey you know, you could also be a novelist.” So I decided to give it a shot. Let’s see what happens.

One thing more, I am not a person who frequently indulges on social media for long hours. That is because of the time constraints. Therefore, I apologize to anyone in advance to whom I don’t reply in time.

Sincerely Yours
Patrick Jane
